Delia Cannings will discuss the benefits for employers of the Level 2 Cleaning Hygiene Operative Apprenticeship and how to introduce it into the workplace. Launched on 1 January 2024, the apprenticeship standard offers the opportunity for industry organisations to use Apprenticeship Levy payments to fund apprenticeships for their staff, enabling businesses to invest in their workforce and providing employees with an opportunity to access a recognised work-related cleaning qualification. As well as unlocking millions of pounds a year for staff training, the apprenticeship standard will help the sector and staff achieve greater recognition for their vital, skilled work which contributes to the health and wealth of the nation.
British Cleaning Council
Delia Cannings is Chair of the British Cleaning Council (BCC) as well as Patron of the Association of Healthcare Cleaning Professionals (ahcp), an examiner for the Cleaning Science Degree programmes with Northampton University and founder and owner of Environmental Excellence Training and Development Ltd. Delia was awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize for education and training within the industry.
