Whilst still a student, Lauren Kyle took on what was expected to be a part-time temporary cleaning job during the summer holidays. Over 30 years and a number of roles later she’s delighted to still be a part of this vibrant, forward-thinking and exciting industry. Now working as an independent consultant, Lauren previously worked at Sodexo, starting as a cleaning supervisor and finishing as Head of Cleaning and Soft FM Development. She has recently chaired the industry group that developed the new Level 2 Cleaning Hygiene Operative apprenticeship and is passionate about developing talent in the industry.

With a background in trade and national newspaper journalism, Neil has been involved in the events sector for almost 40 years in industries as diverse as marine transportation, utilities, retail, automotive, cleaning and facilities management, and broadcast. Neil has produced many international conferences and has also been an organiser and judge across a number of award programmes, working with global brands on international events. In addition to his role with C&M and the Cleaning Show, Neil is currently co-owner and director of Red Lemon Events Ltd and co-producer of the Corporate Star Awards.

With over 40 years’ experience - from hotel housekeeping through to running her own company with contracts across the UK - Denise is always ready to pass on that knowledge to both experienced and non-experienced cleaning operatives.

Dr Lucas Gent joined Reckitt in 2021 with the Global Business Solutions team. Lucas has a background in Molecular Genetics and presents a diverse interdisciplinary skill set. He has worked very closely with the Medical Team to conceptualise and generate claims for Reckitt’s Professional products. Lucas has also been an integral part of a cross-functional team and has coordinated unique research with the University of Arizona on a QMRA (Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment) study to demonstrate how the use of Reckitt Pro Solutions’ Disinfection Brands used in the right way and at the right time results in superior and effective hygiene. Lucas was also in Reckitt’s Core Team delivering Targeted Hygiene Protocols for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Richard is a highly dedicated PPE sales specialist at Lyreco UK and Ireland, boasting an impressive career spanning 25 years in sales and business development. He has honed his expertise through notable stints at organisations such as WATR, Staples Solutions and GE Money. As a target-oriented head of division, Richard has demonstrated a consistent track record of success in various roles including Business Development Associate, Business Development Manager and National Account Manager.

Lorcan has spent the last 30 years supplying the waste management and cleaning and hygiene sector with waste sacks. Berry Bpi was a founding member of the CHSA Plastic Sack Scheme. He was instrumental in expanding the scheme to now include office bin liners and OTH sacks. He became a CHSA Council member in 2015 and Chair in 2019.

Joanne has over 40 years’ experience working within the cleaning and hygiene industry, having headed up Jangro for over 20 years and ensuring that the group provides an innovative and unrivalled offering and service. Highly regarded in the industry, Jo sits on several industry boards and is proud to be a Court Assistant of the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners.

She moved to John Deas & Company, the independent distributor that served the hospitality sector, before joining Peter Grant Papers, now Northwood Hygiene Products. Today she is UK & European Sales Manager for the Professional Hygiene division at chemicals manufacturer, Evans Vanodine.

Harrison Wipes is a 135-year old, 4^th generation family business. Based in Essex, the company is a nonwoven wiping cloth business supplying wipes into FM, HORECA and janitorial markets. Stephen is a former Chairman of the CHSA and now an honorary Vice President. He has worked consistently to continue the development of the CHSA’s Accreditation Schemes, supporting their influential place in the market.

With a passion for technology, Neil is always looking for innovative ways that tech can be used to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

In addition to her role at BICSc is a Youth Ambassador for Youth Employment UK, Kelsey has experienced the cleaning industry in a range of challenging frontline positions within the NHS during the COVID pandemic. She brings extensive experience in site inspections, project management and overcoming the issues faced in operational cleaning service and particularly training models.

Soo has worked in the cleaning and FM industry for over 30 years, working her way up from a cleaning operative in local schools when her children were little to her current position as Technical Director for Birkin Services. Soo first became associated with BICSc in 1992 when her then employer, OCS, placed her on a BICSc training course. In 2011 she was elected onto the BICSc Council. In 2015 Soo entered the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners, becoming a Freeman of the City of London in 2016 and in 2021 became one of the first members of the Livery to be entered on to the Register as a Chartered Practitioner in Environmental Cleaning.

James has worked in the cleaning and FM industry for over 30 years having held several senior operational and functional roles during his career. He spent the first 20 years within the aviation industry, initially with BAA, then for 15 years with Servisair holding various positions including Head of Health and Safety and Operations Director, before then moving to Inflight Cleaning Services as Operations Director in 2008. In 2012 James moved to his current employer, ISS Facilities Services, as Operations Director for the Transport Business and became Managing Director of the Cleaning and Transport Business, with over 8000 employees and a turnover of £175 million, in 2017. After a successful 4-year spell, James took on his new role as Director of Product and Performance, Cleaning Services for the UK and Ireland in January 2022, where he is responsible for the lifecycle management of cleaning products and services across the UK and Ireland.

Charlotte Parr is the director of Portfolio, the specialist cleaning service provider. Charlotte is enthusiastic about aligning with the client’s culture and values to create powerful and successful partnerships. Her focuses include creating exceptional workplaces for clients and championing ED&I strategies across these partnerships and the business.

Lisa joined Exclusive Contract Services in 2011 as Human Resources and Training Director, having gained a wealth of experience working within the hospitality industry in various capacities both in operational and human resources management. Lisa is also actively collaborating closely with industry experts to create and imbed diverse people strategies, and is passionate about improving staff engagement practices, coaching and creating succession plans to create opportunities across the company and the industry.

Michelle has over 20 years’ experience in the FM industry, successfully managing her own consultancy, delivering recruitment service solutions to clients and helping employers to build amazing teams. Michelle is also a Partner Founder for Ingage FM Training which focusses on upskilling individuals and helping to advance their careers through CPD education.

As Head of Client Solutions at Clinch, Adam works alongside organisations to help them attract and recruit diverse talent using innovative technology-based solutions. Nigel Grinstead is Chief Executive of an innovative primary care organisation, facilitator and leading tranformation practitioner. He has chaired and facilitated many healthcare hygiene, infection control and cleaning science events and has led and delivered, as well as let, soft services tenders. Nigel has over 30 years’ experience in the sector and also supports digital transformation and turnaround for NHJS and private sector organisations via a vibrant consultancy organisation, Open Junction. Nigel was a founding CEO of Pier Health, Weston-super-Mare and assisted in developing Europe’s largest super partnership in Birmingham. Nigel is a non-executive director of a number of leading healthcare providers.

Michael is an independent consultant specialising in validation and implementation of healthcare hygiene technology, environmental infection prevention and integration within patient safety, quality improvement and sustainability initiatives. Published studies include enhanced patient environment cleaning and impact on healthcare associated infection, antimicrobial compounds and surface modification and methods of enhanced decontamination methods and practitioner training.

He is a member of the Hospital Infection Society, Infection Prevention Society, Central Sterilising Club, and is a Patron of the National Association of Healthcare Cleaning professionals (AHCP) UK.

Collette has worked in the healthcare cleaning industry for 46 years supporting multiple NHS clients. She supported the launch of the first NHS national standards of Healthcare Cleanliness (2001), and all subsequent revisions culminating in 2021. She has a profound understanding of the complexities of delivering cleaning in the healthcare environment. Collette is the Head of Healthcare Cleaning at ISS Facility Services, providing guidance and expertise to the Operational Performance Team and Contract Management teams.

Caroline Fennessy is a well organised and highly motivated specialist with over 15 years' experience in soft FM for both large and small international companies, specialising in the environment and cleaning hygiene. A commercial and operationally experienced individual within cleaning management specialisms, with a proven track record in successfully leading teams through change with particular expertise across the healthcare sector where she was part of the NSoHC 21 development team.

Heather Cracknell is an experienced manager with vast experience within the healthcare cleaning sector. She has a history of leading teams through transformation, is skilled in negotiation and operational management and plays a significant role as part of the ongoing NSoHC 21 review and development panel. Heather has recently completed the Chartered Practitioners Award demonstrating her commitment to education and training and continuous personal development, and her inclusive leadership style enables people power with succession planning a real factor in her management and delivery style

Chris James has been involved with bio-medical science and cleaning education and development for over 40 years. He is a biologist, one-time clinical scientist, teacher and environmentalist with a passion for cleaning science. His driving ambition is the pursuit of education and training for the cleaning industry at all levels. He has worked for colleges of FE, universities, national training organisations, sector skills councils, and a number of awarding organisations including CIWM.

Callum MacLeod, Managing Director of Stamp Out Slavery and AM Facilities Management is a law graduate and an experienced leader in corporate cleaning and support services. Like care, retail, hospitality, and security, the cleaning sector is labour-intensive and at risk of exploitation by those looking to traffic and mistreat vulnerable workers. Stamp Out Slavery is his answer to this problem.

Phil Brewer, Specialist Adviser on Modern Slavery to the Human Trafficking Foundation, was previously a Detective Superintendent in the Metropolitan Police, responsible for investigations into modern slavery and criminal exploitation. Here he gained significant experience of tackling serious and organised crime. He now advises the HTF, which supports the work of other organisations fighting modern slavery in the UK.

Angie Morrish, Independent Management Consultant and Director of Stamp Out Slavery has over 30 years’ experience in education, training, governance, fundraising, marketing, and communications across the public, private and charity sectors. She is delighted to be applying her skills to the operation and promotion of SOS and looks forward to chatting to visitors during the Manchester Cleaning Show 2024.

Mondays is an innovative company providing sustainable period-care solutions. Nancy started her career as a business advisor in the City of London where, like 86% of women, she suffered the indignity of not having period products on hand when needed. She founded Mondays with the mission to empower women to perform at their best wherever they’re at in life and the belief that period products are an essential, just like toilet paper. Six years on and Mondays has been instrumental in making menstrual health policy a prerequisite to create an equitable workplace. Mondays works with companies focused on ESG targets and the health and wellbeing of employees to re-evaluate the workplace environment starting in the bathroom.

Jonathon Hall is the managing director of advertising agency Adlabs Global. He is also a husband, father to two daughters, prostate cancer survivor and campaigner. He is fast growing a burgeoning tv career, with his most recent appearance on BBC’s The One Show! Jonathon has received treatment for prostate cancer twice, after his initial diagnosis in August 2020. He has since taken to documenting his experience on social media and lending his voice to phs Group and Prostate Cancer UK’s campaign - Dispose With Dignity - to drive awareness, and break the taboo around talking about prostate cancer and male urinary incontinence.

Over the past eight years with phs Group Kelly has led a number of thought-leadership campaigns which have eventually been sewn into the identity of the business.
