    Want to know what others thought of The Cleaning Show 2009?

    As the 2009 Cleaning Show drew to a close yesterday, the words on everyone’s lips was "Exceeded Expectations!"  Despite the current economic gloom, the show which was held at the NEC, Birmingham from 10-12 March 2009, saw some 8,000 visitors through its doors.

    Show organisers, BCCE Ltd, a company jointly owned by the British Cleaning Council and Quartz Publishing & Exhibitions Ltd were delighted with this year’s attendance figures. Martin Scott, event director, said,"This show far exceeded our own high expectations, with not only quantity, but quality too!  The show had a real buzz about it and staging the event in one large hall, enabled visitors to see the entire show.

    North Norfolk District Council has won the much coveted UK Winner’s Trophy in the 2009 Clean Britain Awards, presented today at the NEC Cleaning Show near Birmingham.

    A total of sixty three entries were received from Local Authorities all over the UK in three separate categories, Cities, Towns and Districts.

    All entries received an anonymous half day inspection visit during the second half of 2008 and judged against a number of criteria, including; litter and fly tipping; waste bin management; chewing gum and cigarette butt litter, dog fouling and signage and street furniture cleanliness – all issues which impact on first – and lasting – visitor impressions.

    The UK’s leading cleaning event, the Cleaning Show 2009, is inviting cleaning professionals to test their skills in a battle of the machines!

    The Machine Competition, which will take place on day two of the show, will see participants attempt to manoeuvre a ride-on scrubber drier through a prepared course of cones. This must be done against the clock, with time added for hitting cones. There will be 31 teams of four, and the winners will be those with the fastest time and best score. All entry fees will go to the winning team’s choice of charity.

    UXBRIDGE, February  10th 2009 – With The Cleaning Show 2009 just around the corner, the event’s organisers are urging visitors to take full advantage of a host of innovative new products and promotions on offer in an effort to fight the credit crunch.

    The Cleaning Show is gathering together some of the biggest names in the industry to showcase their new products, many of which use the latest technology, not only to deliver results, but to increase productivity and save money!

    The biggest event in the cleaning industry calendar, The Cleaning Show 2009, is offering visitors to the show a fantastic opportunity to win some fabulous days out for themselves and their friends or families at any sports or entertainment event of their choice!

    The amazing prize draws will take place every day during the show, where each day one lucky visitor will win four tickets to any event of their choice, and enjoy full hospitality for the day.
    Visitors can choose from such world famous sports events as the F1 Grand Prix or Wimbledon, or perhaps a Premiership or England football match, a cricket test match, rugby international or golf Open. You can even win the chance to play a round of golf at any of the UK’s top courses!

This must be done against the clock, with time added for hitting cones, not completing the floor scrub and for not using approved BICSc methods for scrubbing the floor. There will be individual and team winners for those with the fastest time and best score.
