The UK’s leading cleaning event, the Cleaning Show 2009, is inviting cleaning professionals to test their skills in a battle of the machines!

The Machine Competition, which will take place on day two of the show, will see participants attempt to manoeuvre a ride-on scrubber drier through a prepared course of cones, scrub and dry a section of floor and return to the start. This must be done against the clock, with time added for hitting cones, not completing the floor scrub and for not using approved BICSc methods for scrubbing the floor. There will be individual and team winners for those with the fastest time and best score.

Six contract cleaning companies will be invited to take part, using machines supplied by various manufacturers.

The event is in association with the Industrial Cleaning Machines Manufacturers Association (ICMMA) and Cleaning & Support Services Association (CSSA). It will be judged by the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc). The competition rules have been compiled by members of the BCC.

The Cleaning Show 2009, which is organised by BCCE Ltd, a company jointly owned by the British Cleaning Council and Quartz Publishing & Exhibitions Ltd, will run from 10th –12th March at the NEC, Birmingham. The event presents an unmissable opportunity for companies in the cleaning and support services industry to market, sell and promote their products and services.

The premier event will also honour the latest advances in the business, when it stages the third Innovation Awards, chosen by a panel of experts across a wide range of industries. Winners from the last show include, See Brilliance (Best Chemical Innovation), Totally Different (Washroom Products Innovation), Waste Recycle Company (Other Machines Award), Unger UK (Hand Tools Award), along with Industrial Cleaning Equipment and Premier FCM (Best Floor Cleaning Machine – joint award).
